Matt Bomer, Bill Pullman and Josh Wiggins star in Walking Out for Salt

Matt Bomer, Bill Pullman and Josh Wiggins lead the cast in the father/son survival drama, Walking Out, written and directed by Alex & Andrew Smith. Film completed principal photography 1 February 2016 in Montana, USA. Producers are Brunson Green of Harbinger Pictures and Laura Ivey of Co-Op Entertainment. The Salt Company are handling international sales.

Josh Wiggins plays a typical teenage urbanite who travels to rural Montana to go hunting with his estranged “off-the-grid” father played by Matt Bomer. As they ascend deep into the wilderness, father and son struggle to connect on any level. When an unexpected encounter with a grizzly bear leaves them both with serious injuries, the boy must carry his father to safety if they are to survive.

Writer/Directors Alex & Andrew Smith previously collaborated on The Slaughter Rule starring Ryan Gosling and Winter in the Blood.

Producer Brunson Green previously produced Tate Taylor’s The Help and is currently in post-production on The United Kingdom directed by Amma Assante.

Producer Laura Ivey just completed Meg Ryan’s directorial debut, Ithaca.

Director of Photography is Todd McMullen (The Leftovers, Friday Night Lights, The Newsroom), editor is Michael Taylor (Elvis & Nixon, Love Is Strange).
