Pimienta’s short film up for Palme d’Or

Salt is delighted to announce that the Puerto Rican short film Mi Santa Mirada, directed by Álvaro Aponte and produced by The Pimienta Film Co., was selected from among 4,500 films to compete in the 2012 Short Film Palme d’Or alongside nine other shorts from around the world. Mi Santa Mirada is the first Puerto Rican short film to compete for the prestigious prize. Producer Luillo Ruiz commented, “We are extremely proud of the new generation of Puerto Rican directors such as Álvaro. Mi Santa Mirada is an important piece of Puerto Rican cinema, a neo-realist vision of contemporary Puerto Rico that portrays all our complexities as a nation.” Way to go papis!
