Salt’s acclaimed British horror film The Borderlands the first film from Metrodome’s production slate, has struck deals in numerous territories around the world.
Grindstone Entertainment Group will release in North America. Pandastorm will release in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Benelux. Euro Films have picked up for Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Venezuela and Colombia. Front Row will release in the Middle East. Metrodome will release theatrically in the UK in April.
Written and directed by Elliot Goldner, The Borderlands stars regular Ben Wheatley collaborator Robin Hill (Down Terrace, Kill List). Produced for Metrodome by Jenn Handorf. the film has been praised by critics and audiences alike for its inventive rejuvenation of the folk horror genre.
Inspired by 19th century writers like H P Lovecraft and M R James as well as modern genre hits like The Cabin in the Woods, Kill List and The Orphanage the filmmakers stated their belief is that horror should be always original, totally unpredictable and above all – scary as hell.
