China Moo-Young


After studying film, theatre & tv at Bristol University, China progressed into commercials, music videos and shorts. Her credits include the UKFC funded film Juvenile. China was named a ‘Star of Tomorrow’ in the Screen International review of new british film talent and was also made an honouree on the UK Film Council’s talent program Breakthrough Brits. Since making a thirty minute drama for Ch4’s Coming Up EMO she has gone on to direct television drama. Most recently she completed two episodes for the second series of 1950s drama Call The Midwife for BBC One and Neal Street Productions.

China is “passionate about making intelligent genre films with mainstream appeal”. She is currently developing several feature projects and is attached to direct a film with Warp.
