Using revolutionary 3D technology the viewer will be immersed as never before in a truly original experience of the wild.
The team behind Dolphin have more than 60 years combined experience of filming the oceans and dolphin for, amongst others, the BBC, DisneyNature, Discovery and National Geographic. They have won more than fifty awards for wildlife cinematography and filming. Two of the team’s projects, Earth and Deep Blue, have generated to date in excess of $200 million in combined worldwide box office and DVD revenues.
In turns heart-warming, funny, tragic and scary this universal story is set against the colourful and vibrant background of the spectacular coral reefs and sand flats of the Caribbean, teaming with a magnificent array of sea life. Dolphin is a true story, rooted in scientific fact. The filmmakers have secured exclusive access to specific pods of spotted dolphin, through the project’s scientific consultant who is one of the world’s pre-eminent dolphin experts. The filming will take place over a period of three years and will provide a unique opportunity to capture never seen before dolphin behaviour and other aspects of marine life. It will be the ultimate and seminal documentary work on dolphin when released and no doubt for many years after.
The Dolphin team have developed expertise in both the technical and creative aspects of 3D filming. In particular they have developed bespoke technology that will capture dolphin life and behaviour in a totally unique way, avoiding the static nature of most underwater 3D projects and allowing the audience to truly become part of the fast moving world of dolphin.
