In space the moon is always full
220 miles above the Earth, the first orbital hotel for the world’s wealthy elite is in the final stages of construction. “The Empire Hotel” is an awe-inspiring feat of engineering; its breathtaking design and sleek modernity eclipsed only by the jaw dropping view from inside of the sun rising, cresting majestically over the earth. Due to the Empire’s position and speed of orbit, there is a sunrise every ninety minutes.
The skeleton crew on board is a tight knit team and they are literally days away from completing their contract. There is a palpable sense of anticipation and excitement at the prospect of returning home and morale is high. But when a body is ejected from the decommissioned “MIR style” International Space Station that orbits close by the hotel, the team launch a desperate rescue mission. Little do they know that they will unwittingly bring on board an ancient and deadly predator…a werewolf. As the death toll rises, paranoia descends as the survivors realise that any one of them could be hiding the infection, only to undertake a gruesome transformation at the next full moon. And the next full moon is never more than ninety minutes away…
Steel Moon is a claustrophobic, stylish and visceral horror movie in the vein of Alien and The Thing. The space hotel setting provides a stunning visual backdrop to a mythical tale of terror and transformation that catapults the earthbound werewolf legend into orbit – and beyond.
